To mark the release of Steven Spielberg's latest alien summer blockbuster, "Disclosure Day", we'll look back to his first exploration of the extra-terrestrial in "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind" from (amazingly) almost 50yrs ago. Coming down to Earth with a bang, our second choice is "Sound of Metal" which received 6 Oscar nominations in 2021 including for stand-out performances by Riz Ahmed and Paul Raci. Both now available on BBC iPlayer although the latter only until 18th July.
As an added bonus this month, we'll also take a look at this year's Oscar winning short film "The Singers" which is available on Netflix.
